Dodge bearings, sold & sourced by Dalton Bearing Service
Dalton Bearing Service supplies Dodge mounted ball and roller bearings, gear reducers, couplings, sheaves and bushings, and conveyor pulleys from our counter at 601 S Glenwood Ave in Dalton, Georgia, and we ship them wherever your plant is. Since 2021, Dodge has been owned by RBC Bearings and operates as Dodge Industrial, with its headquarters in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Part numbers and product names did not change when RBC bought the company.
Mounted bearings are the core of the line. Dodge makes set-screw, eccentric-collar and adapter-mount ball bearing pillow blocks and flange units, and Imperial and Type E roller bearing units for heavier loads. It also makes split pillow blocks and stainless and polymer housings for washdown areas. For speed reducers, Dodge offers Torque-Arm shaft-mount reducers, Quantis gearmotors and worm gear reducers. In power transmission, Dodge makes Para-Flex and Raptor elastomeric couplings, sheaves with Taper-Lock and QD bushings, and drum and wing pulleys for conveyors.
Dodge is also one of the most common replacements when a Sealmaster unit is out of stock. Many Dodge ball bearing units share standard bore sizes, shaft heights and bolt patterns with Sealmaster and AMI units. Send us the old number and we will check the cross-reference dimensions before you order, including the base-to-center height and the bolt spacing.
Keeping a line down for a part costs more than the part. Send us a part number, a photo of the housing or nameplate, or a description, and a real person will track it down and get you a price. If the exact Dodge number is backordered, we will tell you that up front and offer a cross-reference.
Dodge ownership & history
Dodge began in 1878 when Wallace Dodge set up a small woodworking shop in Mishawaka, Indiana, making wood split pulleys. The company was incorporated about 1880 and grew into a major maker of power transmission equipment. Reliance Electric bought Dodge in 1967. Exxon owned Reliance from 1979 until a 1986 management buyout, and Rockwell bought Reliance in December 1994.
In January 2007, Rockwell Automation sold Dodge and Reliance Electric to Baldor. That made Dodge a sister brand to Baldor motors, and the two came under ABB when ABB bought Baldor in 2011. On November 1, 2021, RBC Bearings completed its purchase of the Dodge mechanical power transmission business from ABB for about $2.9 billion, and the company became Dodge Industrial, Inc. Today Dodge's sister brands are RBC's own lines, such as Heim rod ends and Climax shaft collars, rather than Baldor.
