Hiwin linear motion, sold & sourced by Dalton Bearing Service
Dalton Bearing Service supplies Hiwin linear guideways, ball screws and related motion components to plants and machine builders, working from our counter at 601 S Glenwood Ave in Dalton, Georgia. Hiwin is a Taiwanese manufacturer based in Taichung, and it is an independent, publicly traded company rather than a brand inside a larger bearing group.
Most buyers come to Hiwin for profile rail. The linear guideway range is organized by series: HG for heavy-load ball guideways, EG for low-profile installations, WE for wide rails, MG for miniature rails, CG for torque resistance, and RG for roller-type guideways where rigidity matters most. The QH, QE, QW and QR series are the quieter versions, and there are also self-lubricating and stainless steel options.
Beyond rail, Hiwin makes ball screws, ball splines, single-axis robot modules such as the KK series, torque motor rotary tables, cross roller bearings, and DATORKER strain wave gears for robot joints.
To quote a guideway, we need the whole part number, because it encodes the series, size, block style, rail length, preload and accuracy class. If the marking is gone, send the rail width, the block length, the hole spacing and a photo. For a ball screw, send the diameter, lead, overall length, nut style and end machining, or a drawing if you have one. Worn screws are often custom-length parts, so lead time depends on the machining.
Rail and block dimensions are similar across several manufacturers, but a block from one maker should not be assumed to fit another maker's rail. If you are changing brands, plan on replacing both, or send us the details and we will check the mounting dimensions against THK, Bosch Rexroth, INA or IKO equivalents. Send a part number or a photo, and a person at our counter will price it and give you a lead time.
Hiwin ownership & history
Hiwin was founded in Taichung, Taiwan, in October 1989 by Eric Y.T. Chuo. It grew quickly overseas: a US subsidiary in 1992, then in 1993 the purchase of the German company Holzer, which became its German subsidiary. A Japanese subsidiary followed in 1999, and a new US plant opened in the Chicago area in 2006.
The company's shares were listed in 2009 and trade on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under code 2049. Also in 2009 it invested in the Israeli controller maker Mega-Fabs Motion Systems. Unlike many of the linear brands on this site, Hiwin has not been bought or merged into a larger group. It has no sister brands on our site, so the links below are alternatives rather than family.

Why buy Hiwin linear motion from Dalton Bearing
Dalton Bearing Service has kept plants running from Dalton, Georgia since 1946. We are an independent industrial distributor, not the manufacturer — which means we can quote Hiwin linear motion straight from stock or our supplier network and, when a number is backordered or discontinued, offer a checked cross-reference — often from INA, IKO or Ewellix. Send a part number, a photo of the nameplate, or just the dimensions, and a real person gets back to you with price and availability, usually the same day.
Need something besides Hiwin? We source ball bearings, mounted bearings, plain bearings, speed reducers, couplings, chain drives and more across 160 manufacturer lines — browse every brand or send us your whole list and we will quote it in one go.
