Ewellix Linear Motion

Manufacturer line

Ewellix linear motion, sold & sourced by Dalton Bearing Service

Dalton Bearing Service supplies Ewellix linear actuators, ball and roller screws, linear guides and lifting columns to maintenance departments and machine builders, working from our counter at 601 S Glenwood Ave in Dalton, Georgia. Ewellix is the linear motion and actuation business of the Schaeffler Group, and many buyers still know it by its earlier name, SKF Motion Technologies.

The range covers two jobs: making something move, and guiding it while it moves. On the actuation side are electromechanical linear actuators, including the CAHB and CASM families, along with control units and lifting columns (telescopic pillars) used in medical equipment, industrial automation and mobile machinery. On the mechanical side are ball screws, planetary roller screws and their support bearings, linear ball bearings with units and shafts, profile rail guides, precision rail guides, and linear slides and modules. Ewellix also makes robot add-ons such as seventh-axis units.

When you call about an actuator, the full model code matters more than the family name. Stroke, load, speed, voltage and the mounting ends all change the part. For a screw, send the diameter, lead, length, nut style and end machining. For a guide, send the size and the carriage type, and tell us whether the rail stays or gets replaced, because carriages and rails from different makers are not automatically interchangeable.

If your machine has an older unit marked SKF, send us the nameplate or a photo. The linear business left SKF in 2018, and SKF still sells its own bearings, so a part can carry either name depending on its age. We will work out the current equivalent.

When an Ewellix part has a long lead time, we will tell you up front and look at alternatives from Schaeffler's INA linear range, or from Thomson, THK, Hiwin or Nook, checked against your load and mounting dimensions. Send a part number or a photo, and a person at our counter will price it and give you a lead time.

Ewellix ownership & history

Ewellix spent about 50 years inside the SKF Group, where it became SKF Motion Technologies, the group's linear motion and actuation business. In December 2018 SKF sold it to funds managed by the investment firm Triton. On 23 October 2019 the company took the name Ewellix, keeping its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Schaeffler agreed to buy Ewellix from Triton in July 2022 and completed the purchase on 3 January 2023. That put it in the same corporate group as INA and FAG. It also means the former SKF linear business now belongs to one of SKF's main bearing competitors. Schaeffler initially ran Ewellix as an additional business alongside its industrial division and now presents it as part of its linear motion range. The ewellix.com address redirects to Schaeffler's linear motion site, and Schaeffler was still using the Ewellix name on new actuators it showed at Hannover Messe in 2026.

Why buy Ewellix linear motion from Dalton Bearing

Dalton Bearing Service has kept plants running from Dalton, Georgia since 1946. We are an independent industrial distributor, not the manufacturer — which means we can quote Ewellix linear motion straight from stock or our supplier network and, when a number is backordered or discontinued, offer a checked cross-reference — often from FAG, INA or Hiwin. Send a part number, a photo of the nameplate, or just the dimensions, and a real person gets back to you with price and availability, usually the same day.

Need something besides Ewellix? We source roller bearings, mounted bearings, plain bearings, speed reducers, couplings, chain drives and more across 160 manufacturer lines — browse every brand or send us your whole list and we will quote it in one go.
