Regal Rexnord Brands
Regal Rexnord is the parent company behind many of the power transmission brands Dalton Bearing Service sells every day: mounted bearings, couplings, gear drives, chain, clutches and brakes. If you have been told a familiar brand is now "part of Regal Rexnord," this page shows how the pieces fit together and links to each brand we carry.
How the company came together
Regal Beloit, a Wisconsin motor and gearing maker, spent decades buying industrial brands, including Grove Gear, Electra-Gear, Hub City, Marathon and Leeson. Effective January 30, 2015, Regal bought Emerson's Power Transmission Solutions business, which brought in Browning, Sealmaster, McGill, Morse, Kop-Flex and Rollway.
On October 4, 2021, Regal Beloit merged with Rexnord's Process & Motion Control business and renamed itself Regal Rexnord Corporation. That added Rexnord, Link-Belt bearings, Falk gear drives and couplings, Stearns brakes and Autogard torque limiters. Rexnord's water business stayed separate as Zurn.
On March 27, 2023, Regal Rexnord completed its roughly $5 billion purchase of Altra Industrial Motion. The Altra brands include Formsprag clutches, Warner Electric clutches and brakes, TB Wood's sheaves and couplings, Boston Gear, Ameridrives couplings, Kilian bearings and Thomson linear motion. Most of these brands keep their own names and part numbers.
In April 2024 Regal Rexnord sold its industrial motors and generators business, including the Marathon industrial motor and generator lines, to WEG. Smaller Marathon NEMA motors moved under the Leeson name.
Why it matters when you order
Sister brands often cross over. A Sealmaster mounted bearing may have a Rexnord or Link-Belt alternative, and a Morse clutch may have a Formsprag equivalent. Send us the part number you have and we will check the original and the family alternatives before you order. Call 706.226.2022.
