Rexnord ownership & history
Rexnord traces back to the Chain Belt Company, organized in Milwaukee in 1891 and incorporated in 1892. It took the Rex Chainbelt name in the 1960s, merged with Nordberg Manufacturing in 1970 and became Rexnord in 1973. In 1988 Rexnord's mechanical power business combined with PT Components, the former FMC power transmission group that owned Link-Belt bearings and chain.
Ownership changed many times after that, including BTR and Invensys, The Carlyle Group (2002) and Apollo. Rexnord bought Falk in 2005 and Autogard in 2011. On October 4, 2021, Rexnord's Process & Motion Control business merged with Regal Beloit to form Regal Rexnord. The remaining water business became Zurn Water Solutions. Rexnord now shares a parent with Sealmaster, Browning and Morse.
